Sigma invests in Konica Minolta AL 230 press

Sigma Middle East Label invests in Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 (AL230) digital press. They are expected to save more from the investment as the short run jobs can be converted to digital press. Located in United Arab Emirates, Sigma is one of the leading manufacturers of self-adhesive labels.

Talking about the investment, Jagannath M. Wagle, MD of Sigma Middle East Labels Industries LLC, said, “We have been in the Flexo printing company for the last 10 years. When we talk about Flexo it includes plate charges and volume jobs. Currently, owing to a lot of fluctuations in the market and many players in similar industries jobs quantities have been reduced. In addition, customers also demand for very short runs like 1000-4000 pcs. Customers don’t pay any plate charges to us due to a lot of competition so we had to pay these plate charges from our pocket to keep customer demands. Now due to this digital printing AL230 we have got a lot of advantages, all short runs can be converted to the digital which would allow us to save some money. We can even convert many jobs in short time due to digital. The AL230 has been a value addition to our business module with its excellent quality and consistency.”
He further added, “There are only a very few suppliers in the UAE with digital press and sigma is one of them so we stand out of many printers who can give an excellent support to the customers.”
