“As the market leader, HP Indigo is always one step ahead of the game, inspiring and enabling customers and brands to ‘Dare to Imagine.’ It is exciting to see the endless potential growth of this market. Indigo customers grew 6 times faster than the market in 2021 (impressions wise) and although 2022 is not over yet we can definitely share that this momentum continues. We enable our customers to dare -- and that’s where the real growth is,” said Noam Zilbershtain GM of HP indigo.
HP Indigo’s Portfolio at the Cornerstone of Production Floor Transformation
Two years since its successful launch, the HP Indigo 100K Digital Press, the world’s most productive 'Born to Run' B2 digital press, has amassed over 120 presses in the field. The Indigo 100K press is leading the offset conversion transformation, enabling improved productivity and efficiency for print service providers while maintaining the HP Indigo digital benefits, leading more pages to be printed digitally.
Over 50% of the HP Indigo 100K install base have printed more than 100k impressions in one shift of eight hours (70% net printing time), with some having reached up to 130k impressions in a single shift. This uptick in customer momentum is complemented by upgrades and new capabilities, which will be presented this week on the floor in Las Vegas, including a 5th ink station for special effect inks (such as LLK and spot inks for brands), and an Auto Pallet Replacement (APR) system assuring continuous stacking, reduced labor, and an increase in overall press utilization.
Anstadt, a print communications and marketing services provider based in York, Pennsylvania, has a variety of HP Indigo presses to deliver e-Commerce, packaging and folding carton, direct mail, signage, and displays for its customers.
Matt Doran, President & CEO, Anstadt, said: “Having previously relied on offset to meet our demand, with our current portfolio of HP Indigo technology, including the HP Indigo 100K, 15K, and 7900, we can effectively digitally produce all core product categories we focus on today at Anstadt. We currently utilize only one offset press, and we are now on the verge of fully realizing our vision of being an all-digital, highly automated print operation of the future. This will ensure our continued productivity and versatility.”
The latest edition to the successful Series 4 of B2 digital presses, with added versatility, makes the HP Indigo 15K Digital Press the “Yes” press. Tailored for commercial and photo printers seeking to grow their business, the HP Indigo 15K Digital Press offers broad versatility with the widest ink set (a range of 15 different HP Indigo ElectroInks) in the industry. With over 1200 Series 4 presses operating in over 70 countries worldwide, more than 70% of Series 4 customers use unique capabilities to create high value applications and develop new business opportunities.
Affirming this, Bill Anderson, CEO and President of L+L Printers, a San Diego-based HP Indigo customer, said: “The HP Indigo 15K solution enables us to continue to provide the highest quality digital print products for our customers along with increased productivity. New capabilities such as thicker substrate support are a key driver for opening new applications and growth of our digital business.”
Commercial printers are identifying the growth opportunities in diversification to labels and packaging. During the event, HP Indigo will also be showcasing the HP Indigo 6K Digital Press, the backbone of the digital label market, with over 2000 active worldwide presses. The HP Indigo 6K Digital Press is a market-leading narrow-web digital printing press for labels and packaging production, delivering high productivity, wide versatility, and intelligent color automation, while saving 80% - 90% setup media compared to Flexo. Over 1400 label converters globally have at least one HP Indigo 6K Digital Press.
Winning HP Indigo Applications to Leverage Business
As well as the presses, HP Indigo will feature its wide array of solutions, covering production monitoring and management, workflow automation, color matching, variable data printing (VDP) and more. Visitors will be exposed to PrintOS, HP’s print production operating system, which now has more than 21,000 users – reflecting 25% year-on-year growth.
The usage of PrintOS continues to grow as more customers utilize cloud computing and remote operations, with this unique platform enabling them to implement Industry 4.0 solutions daily. HP customers are leveraging different innovative automation tools to maximize productivity and efficiency and over 70% of the HP Indigo 100K Digital Press install base are already using HP PrintOS ColorBeat, saving upwards of one hour per day in production time.
Jonathan Beck, Estimating and Planning Manager at Bolger Printing, a Minnesota based HP Indigo customer, and provider of commercial printing services, said: “PrintOS, Color Beat, and the entire arsenal of analytics tools is a differentiation factor between Indigo and everybody else. We also heavily use the Smart Stream Designer platform for variable rendering and imposition and have recently started using Mosaic for engagement campaigns.”
On the service side, HP will be showcasing HP xRServices, having reached a major milestone of 200 users. Developed to support faster and better uptime, the solution is designed to transform the collaboration between press operators and HP customer care via mixed reality. Previously, HP released Remote Assist, allowing HP customer care to assist customers through the advanced features of remote guidance. At Printing United, HP will be announcing new innovations to xRServices procedures, empowering customers to self-maintain and providing them with the autonomy to reduce machine downtime
