Atlas reinvents the organisation as a hybrid print production facility

Atlas Group has announced the launch of its latest division Atlas Retail Merchandising (ARM). Amit Radia, CEO, said that “ARM will focus on the needs of every retailer or exhibition requirement be it for personalized popup, large format wall paper backdrops or shopping bags in smaller quantities. We have re-invented ourselves as a digital hybrid production house with a range of digital and finishing lines that allow us to cater to this ever-growing segment in the UAE and export markets. With investments above US$ 3,000,000, we have invested and installed a range of different equipment in the last six months.

They have installed the HP 1500 , a 3.2 metre latex printer, the HP800W, a 1.6metre reel to reel latex printer with 8 colors, and an optimizer to ensure the highest scratch-proof quality including white R1000. It is a rigid printer that can print on anything from wood, tiles, metal, ceramic and glass in 8 colours, including white and an overcoat to sustain durability. So the company says they are well set for the wide-format market.

Amit Radia explains, “we then have the Zund G3 2500 high-performance cutter, a digital die-cutting plotter that can cut through any surface with a router to ensure complete accuracy and shape. This will allow us to produce the large format POP stands on any material and size. An investment into an automatic shopping bag line will further advance our growth into merchandising, which further enhances our ability to service this segment and will be up and running by Mid January. It will have a production capacity of up to 25000 bags a day with much smaller minimum order requirements and will cater to the ever-expanding retail base in the UAE, allowing them to order the highest quality shopping bags on demand at reasonable pricing. Last but not least, "our piece de resistance" will be the HP Indigo 12000 sheetfed, upgraded to the HP 15000 capabilities that will allow us to print on demand for any material up to a size of 50 x 70cm, be it paper, board or plastic or even corrugated board or plastic. Ideal for personalized packaging in short runs ranging from 50 to 5000 on demand and delivery within hours. This will complement our e-commerce platform "PrintSouq " to service the B to C market.”

“So welcome to Atlas 2022, a company reborn today to grow and thrive into the next decade as possibly the largest digital production house in the region with our existing investments in Xerox Igen 4, Igen 5, Irridesse and 3 lines Jet Truepress 520 Screen digital webs lines with Hunkeler to complement these investments,” concludes Amit Radia.
