HP continues to grow Middle East and Africa presence with Al Eqtessad

Saudi Arabia-based Al Eqtessad has opened up about its long-term relationship with HP, revealing how its wide-ranging technology partnership with the manufacturer has allowed it to support print service providers and customers across a host of industries.

Established in 1966, Al Eqtessad is headquartered in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, with two supporting facilities in Jeddah and Dammam. With a highly qualified and certified sales and service team, the company operates two core divisions – Machines and Furniture – with print solutions the primary focus of the former of these businesses.

Al Eqtessad has specialised in print technology for over 40 years, working with a number of leading print brands. Among its stand-out print partners is HP.

This partnership has gone from strength to strength for both Al Eqtessad and HP, with the company now offering customers in Saudi Arabia and further afield within the Middle East and African region access to a wide range of HP large-format printing machines.

Al Eqtessad supplies the full ranges of both HP Latex and HP DesignJet printers. Popular products within those ranges include the HP Latex 700/700W and HP Latex 800/800W HP Latex 1500,HP Latex 2700, models as well as HP DesignJet XL3600, XL3800 and HP DesignJet T830, T850, T950 printers.

HP’s PageWide XL series 4200, 5200, 8200 As well as the XL Pro series and the HP Latex R series 1000 & 2000 of flatbed printers also prove to be in high demand within the region.

Such is the range of HP technologies available from Al Eqtessad that the company is in a position to support print service providers of all shapes and sizes, as well as companies working across an array of other markets and industries.

“Our customers are based in all cities of Saudi Arabia,” said Oussama Nasr, National Service Director at Al Eqtessad. “We have a strong presence in the production areas of key market segments such as government; education including universities, colleges and schools; engineering and construction; gas and oil; and healthcare such as hospitals and medical.

“We also work with many customers in more traditional, print-based sectors such as the graphic arts market, copy centres, bookstores, and offset print companies.”

Adding value for customers

As to why Al Eqtessad chose to work with HP, Oussama said HP is recognised as one of the leading brands and technology providers in the global print market. He added that customers across all areas recognise the HP name and the quality it represents.

“HP is a leading company focusing on printing solutions, developing the latest printing technology for customers worldwide, and it has a big range of products in the market,” Oussama said. “HP adds value not only for us but also our customers.”

In terms of current demand, Oussama said there has been a noticeable shift in customers requesting latex technology as opposed to UV printers. As such, this has seen demand for HP Latex printers rise, with the HP Latex 570 and HP Latex 800 proving particularly popular.

While the current focus is very much on wide-format print and delivering solutions to customers in all sectors, Oussama said there is scope for the partnership with HP to develop further. Last year, Al Eqtessad launched a new offering based on HP’s A4 and A3 print machines, while it is also looking at adding 3D print solutions for customers.

“We are doing our best to achieve the greatest success rate in the market and overcome competing companies,” Oussama said.
