Konica Minolta’s drupa stand helps customers to work smarter

A bustling stand, close customer partnership engagement, and another award were all contributing to the ever-evolving digital transformation success story for Konica Minolta at its booth (Stand A40-1-A40-6, Hall 8B) at drupa.

At drupa, Konica Minolta is showing the most advanced end-to-end smart factory digital production lines ever shown in public. It has six interlinked areas across two floors, with over 30 live running machines, and virtually the same number of software displays, and is demonstrating how its toner and inkjet technologies complement each other seamlessly in the print room of the future.

Partner MGI’s JETvarnish 3D Web 400 finishing system won the EDP (European Digital Press Association) prestigious Digital Embellishment Packaging award, which honour best-in-class innovations. The citation referred to how the spot UV varnishing and hot foil stamping ‘add a tactile and a sensory dimension’ to digital finishing technology.  “The implementation of the JETvarnish 3D Web requires no tools, plates or clichés and drastically reduces finishing cost,” it added. The members of the EDP Awards jury underlined the innovation brought by the Single Pass concept of the JETvarnish 3D Web 400 (spot UV varnish and hot foil stamping in a single pass), and its versatility of use with its new Flexo and semi-rotary die-cutting modules.

Konica Minolta’s booth at drupa features true end-to-end solutions and is being operated from the viewpoint of a large, modern smart factory where the technology leader is holistically combining expertise to help customers with their digital transformation. “See the Potential in the Future of Print” is its main messaging for drupa. Konica Minolta is also demonstrating ways of sustainable production in line with the philosophy of Industry 5.0.

“There is a real feel-good feeling on our stand and it’s great to be back at drupa,” said Olaf Lorenz, General Manager International Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. “The first few days have been exceptionally busy and initial sales indications are ahead of target as we continue to ignite print possibilities and help customers with their digital transformation.  We all congratulate MGI for winning such a prestigious EDP award.”
