HP reveals first beta customer for Indigo 120K

A publishing company has become the first beta customer worldwide to install the HP Indigo 120K Digital Press.

Germany-based Limego is a fully digital publishing house that doesn’t run any offset presses. It previously used to outsource its long runs to offset specialists but will now be able to keep all activity in-house.

Speaking at the HP booth in Hall 17 during Drupa at Messe Düsseldorf, Dirk Reinhardt, board member from Limego, said: “Our beta testing of the HP Indigo 120K Digital Press has truly transformed the way we operate our business here at Limego.

“We are now able to produce everything in-house with a true offset conversion thanks to the speed and productivity that this new and innovative digital press offers.”

Markus Weiss, general manager of HP Industrial Print EMEA, added: “Built on over a decade of field proven HP innovation, the HP Indigo portfolio is productive and efficient, and is truly leading the digital transformation in the print industry.

“Through our collaboration with Limego, it’s been a delight to see the company scale up production and drive efficiency across their entire business operations with the HP Indigo 120K Digital Press.”

Unveiled earlier this year, the Indigo 120K can reach speeds of 6,000 sheets per hour and can produce over two million B2 sheets per month.

HP said the machine reduces human touchpoints and enables multi-press operation by a single operator. It is said to deliver offset-matching image quality and an Eco mode option that reduces the machine’s carbon footprint by 11%.
