Second edition of FESPA Middle East was more about real business": Mimaki

Arjen Evertse, General Manager Sales, Mimaki Europe, told PrintWeek MENA: "The second edition of FESPA Middle East is more about real business. Mimaki has the widest range of products in our industry. So we are not able to bring everything to an exhibition. So we have selected the most popular products in the region. We don't have actual product launches in the show, but we do have a technology preview of an upcoming model. This machine will come with a bottle version of the ink supply system, which allows the use of bottled ink and enables a lower running cost, which is very important in this region. We have had previous generations of products, including bottled ink systems for this region, enabling us to get the market position today because Mimaki's presence in the Middle East is quite strong.

"We are proposing our UV solution because there are different points of view on sustainability. It's essential to look at the total picture, not just the impact of the ink itself, but also waste, how much waste is generated from the printer and how much energy is consumed. If you add everything to the calculation, according to our research, UV is the most sustainable ink technology available today. Also, I'm looking forward to getting more adoption of our 3D technology in the Middle East. Besides that, the Middle East seems very promising. We see a lot of developments in different countries. It's not only about, I mean, everyone is talking about Saudi. Of course, Saudi Arabia is the place to be at the moment, but if we look at the whole Middle East overall, we see a lot of opportunities, for example, in countries like Iraq. We have been developing much business in Iraq over the past few years. And also some other, some other smaller countries. Overall, the future of the Middle East looks very promising and exciting."
