Konica Minolta bizhub i-Series receives Keypoint Intelligen…

The Konica Minolta bizhub i-Series has earned the Security Validation Seal for Device Penetration from Keypoint Intelligence, a leading market research firm and independent evaluator of print and smart technology and services. The evaluation was carried out by security specialists using a combination of automated vulnerability assessment and hands-on manual issue verification. The goal was to identify weaknesses in device firmware, operating system components, web interfaces, ports, protocols, and related network-exposed services. The Device Penetration track of Keypoint Intelligence’s Security Validation Testing program is designed to evaluate whether network-connected printers and MFPs are appropriately protected against likely attack vectors. The assessment includes reconnaissance and network mapping, automated vulnerability scans, manual verification of findings, and targeted exploitation techniques focused on areas such as authentication, session management, unsecure services, exposed protocols, input validation, information leakage, and other device-level weaknesses. Results confirmed that Konica Minolta devices running bizhub i-Series firmware and configured with the recommended settings were well-protected against a wide range of anticipated threats. The Security Validation Device Penetration seal is awarded when no vulnerabilities are deemed High or Critical risk on the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) scale, with any Medium-risk findings evaluated on a case-by-case basis. “Too often, IT teams focus on PCs, servers, and network infrastructure when evaluating and monitoring for cybersecurity vulnerabilities, but printers and MFPs are also network endpoints that can present meaningful risk,” noted Jamie Bsales, Principal Analyst for Smart Workplace & Security in Keypoint Intelligence’s Workplace Group. “It is incumbent upon OEMs to ensure that their devices have the features to secure the data the printers handle as well as the wider network, and our testing showed that the bizhub i-Series platform demonstrated strong protections against common device penetration threats.” “Security is a core element of our product design and our responsibility towards our customers,” said Torben Mowka, Manager Office Product Management at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. “We are proud that the high security level of our bizhub i-Series devices has been confirmed by an independent research and testing organization. The Keypoint Intelligence Security Validation Seal demonstrates that our systems meet high security standards and support organizations in protecting sensitive information within increasingly complex IT environments.” About Keypoint Intelligence For over 60 years, clients in the digital imaging industry have relied on Keypoint Intelligence for independent hands-on testing, lab data, and extensive market research to drive their product and sales success. PFU (EMEA) Limited, today unveils the latest evolution of its market leading image scanners, the Fujitsu fi-8000 series. The devices are designed to address today’s capture challenges and drive sustainable business impact. Tarek Akl, Partner Manager for Middle East at PFU (EMEA) Limited, said: “Across the Middle East, organisations are pivoting to solutions that manage information better, as part of their digital transformation journeys. The Fujitsu fi-8000 series empowers and enables organisations to leverage data and make intelligent decisions, in order to gain a competitive edge through organizational intelligence.”    Exceptional image quality is guaranteed across all Fujitsu fi-8000 devices by new Clear Image Capture technology, surpassing the capabilities of existing CIS or CCD. Aiming to set new expectations, Clear Image Capture ensures industry leading OCR accuracy rates, and the capability to capture the widest range of documents. The range’s innovations deliver the highest levels of reliability, reduce power consumption, and consistently provide the perfect feed thanks to state-of-the-art Automatic Separation Control. Meanwhile, Intelligent Sonic Paper Protection (iSOP) and patented Image Monitoring technology combine for the safe capture and protection of passports, booklets (up to 7mm thick) or mixed batches, even when labels or photos are attached. The range is designed to deliver maximum uptime and real-world productivity gains thanks to enhanced multi-feed detection which prevents misfeeds and jams and can capture up to 90 double-sided pages per minute. With the Overscan Control function automatically adjusting the scanning area to prevent image loss on slightly skewed documents, users can eliminate the need for rescanning, and ensure uninterrupted operation. “By redefining the benchmark for what’s possible in terms of real-life throughput and image accuracy the Fujitsu fi-8000 series sets new customer expectations as to the quality and efficiency of their information capture,” comments Hiroaki Kashiwagi, President and CEO of PFU (EMEA) Limited. “This in turn delivers better decision making, competitiveness and long-term strategic advantage for businesses.” “Crucially, users can scale the automated capture of data to help their organisations become more intelligent as they undergo digital transformation. We enable integrations with a range of business tools and solutions through our PaperStream software, and for more bespoke requirements we offer a dedicated Co-creation service.”
